Library Access
Access is open to all members of the university community upon presentation of a valid ID.
- Students enrolled at the University of Nouakchott
- University faculty and researchers
- External visitors with prior authorization
Conduct Rules
Respect for the space and other users is the first condition of a peaceful working environment.
Allowed
- +Working in silence
- +Taking notes and photocopying
- +Using a personal computer
- +Asking staff for assistance
Forbidden
- –Phones on audible mode
- –Food and drinks
- –Loud conversations
- –Moving furniture without permission
Borrowing & Returns
Home borrowing is not yet available. All documents are for on-site consultation only.
- On-site consultation only
- Maximum occupancy of a reading station: 3 hours
- Documents must be returned to shelves by staff
Any document removed without authorization is considered theft and results in immediate sanctions.
Equipment Use
Equipment provided (computers, power outlets, furniture) must be used with care.
- Computers are for academic use only
- Installing software is prohibited
- Report any malfunction to staff immediately
Any damaged equipment must be replaced at the responsible user's expense.
Sanctions
Any breach of the rules exposes the user to sanctions proportional to the severity of the behaviour.
Minor infractions
- Verbal warning
- Temporary exclusion from the session
Major infractions
- Access suspension (1 to 30 days)
- Report to university administration
Theft or intentional damage: permanent exclusion and administrative proceedings.
